The SAVE OUR SCULPTURE campaign is organising a cross bay walk in aid of the Venus & Cupid sculpture on Wednesday 14th August.
The walk will differ from the usual walks which start from Hest Bank. This one will start from Silverdale, and finish at the Venus & Cupid Sculpture at Scalestones Point, at the entrance to Morecambe.
Why Silverdale? Starting here will avoid crossing the Kent River Channel, which is prone to shift and which can be difficult to cross for small children. So, even if there has been a lot of rain previous to the event, we should still all be able to complete the walk.
This walk is therefore a very safe route and ideal for families. In addition, look out for our special family offer – two children go free in every family group.
The walk will start from Gibraltar Farm, just south of Silverdale village, at 10.30 am, where there is a big car park. We shall arrive at Scalestones Point at around 2.30 pm. Coaches will return walkers to Silverdale afterwards. Alternatively, for those who don’t want to drive there, we intend to run coaches from near Scalestones Point to Silverdale before the walk, leaving at around 9.30 am.
We are planning this event with families with children in mind, and we are hoping that many families will be able to raise a little extra money in sponsorship.

Or ‘phone 01524 831600 before 7.45 am 14 August (07544 258782 or 07711 066589 after that time)
